This issue focuses on cross-cultural pedagogies and the interface between Islamic and Western pedagogies and epistemologies.
Over the past decades, the field of cross-cultural studies has expanded considerably. The most recent research in cross-cultural studies draws on a wide range of disciplines such as education, linguistics, language teaching, intercultural studies, discourse analysis, politeness, and pragmatics among others. Despite this abundant literature, not much has been dedicated to cross-cultural pedagogies focusing on Islamic pedagogies and epistemologies in non-Islamic setting.
To fill this gap, this issue will provide a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary platform for cutting-edge research in cross-cultural pedagogies and teaching focusing on Islamic pedagogies and epistemologies in western context and the transfer of western pedagogies and epistemologies within Islamic setting. We welcome articles on a wide range of topics on cross-cultural pedagogies addressing the interface/ relationship between Islamic pedagogies and epistemologies and western pedagogies and epistemologies.
